Perry Willard Reeves, American labor union administrator. Mason (Shriner).


  • Reeves, Perry Willard was born on August 28, 1878 in Parke County, Indiana, United States. Son of John W. and Sarah Jane (Wells) Reeves.

    • Graduate Central Normal College, Danville, Indiana, and business college, Indianapolis.


    • 1 daughter, Sarah Lucille. Teacher public schools, Parke County, Indiana, 1897-1900. Bookkeeper for retail store, 1900.

      In railway work, 1900-1924, advancing to train conductor. Active in Order Railway Condrs., 1905-1924. Member Indiana State Industrial Board, in charge of employment service, 1925-1927.

      Labor member Federal Board for Vocational Education, 1928-1935.


    God, who is heard throughout the Bible, calls for justice for the widows, orphans and aliens who were oppressed by the powers of the day. Therefore the involvement in political life is something that Christians should not avoid.
