Railway, May-October 1888, engineer maintenance of way, 1888-1903, chief engineer, 1903-1914, chairman valuation committee, 1913-1914, assistant to president and chief of valuation, 1914-1918, Norfolk & Western Railway System.

      Vice president N.&W. Railway Company, 1918-1926, in charge purchases, real estate and valuation, 1920-1926, also chairman coms. representing Southern group of rys. on federal valuation, 1913-1926, and engaged in ventilation of railway tunnels. Retired from railway service, October 1, 1926. Consultant engineering practice.
