    • Was designer and draughtsman for electrical firms. Assistant instructor Johns Hopkins, 1892-1894. Assistant professor, 1900-1905, professor electrical engineering, 1905-1913, head department, 1909-1913, Cornell.

      Associate editor, 1913-1921, managing editor, 1921-1922, engineering editor, 1922-1923, Electric Railway Journal. Supervisor of personnel and special instruction, Boston Elevated Railway. Superintendent tests, Electric Railway Test Commission, and member International Jury of Awards, secretary group on electrical machinery, St. Louis Exposition, 1904.

      Special expert in connection with reorganization of America St. Railway Association, 1905. Secretary Society Promotion of Engineering Education, 1909-1914. Fellow American Institute Electrical Engineers (manager 1909-1912).

      Author: Electrical Machinery (with H. J. Ryan and George L. Hoxie). Introduction to the Study of Electrical Engineering. Editor: (with B. V. Swenson) Report of Electric Railway Test Commission.
