William Henry Schuerman, American engineer.


  • Schuerman, William Henry was born on November 8, 1859 in Cincinnati. Son of Commerce. Frederic and Henrietta (Woesten) Schuerman.

    • University of Cincinnati, 1881. Johns Hopkins University, 1882-1883.


    • Engaged in railway engineering, summer 1880, and 1881-1882. Assistant in physics, 1883-1885. Assistant professor, 1885-1888, University of Missouri.

      Engaged in water supply and irrigation engineering, Covington, Kentucky and Kern County, California, 1888-1893. Professor civil engineering, 1894-1912, professor pure and applied mathematics, 1912-1921, professor applied mechanics and structural engineering, since 1921, dean School of Engineering, since 1895, Vanderbilt University.


    • Contributor to Proceedings of Engineering Association of the South, and bulletins American Railway Engineering Association.
