Trotz, Johan Otto Emmanuel was born on March 6, 1860 in Hammersta, Sweden. Son of Sir Carl Otto and Lady Ebba Maria Augusta (nee Baroness Löwen) Trotz.
Graduate in mining and metallurgy, Royal High School of Mines, 1883. In research work for Association Swedish Iron Masters, 1884. Came to the United States, 1887.
Chemist, inspector of material, general superintendent and metallurgical engineer, attached to office of president of the United States Steel Corporation, 1887-1904. Consultant and expert engineer, and designer and superintendent of erection of steel plant and rolling mills of John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, Trenton, New Jersey, 1904-1908. President and general manager Kockums Jernverks Aktb., Sweden, since 1910.
Director Aktb. Svenska Handelsbanken, etc. Knight Order of Vasa, by King Oscar of Sweden, 1907. Address: Svanevik, near Ronneby, Sweden.
