    • In charge topographical survey, State of New Jersey, 1878-1888, and continued until 1918 as consulting engineer State Geological Survey. In general practice at New York since 1888, as consulting or construction engineer for many cities private corporations, in the United States and Cuba, also to Cuban government. Organized York Cliffs (Maine) Improvement Company, 1892.

      Obtained action by United States Government, 1908, in rehabilitation of the sanitation of Cienfuegos, Cuba, at cost of $3,000,000, the work having been interrupted by political disturbances. Engineer in charge of dismantling and reconstruction of Morris Canal for State of New Jersey.

    • Author of map of Manhattan Island as it existed in 1776, and of several history monographs.
