      Co-organizer The Dayton Metal Products Company and Dayton-Wright Airplane Company, 1914. Served for 27 years as vice president General Motors Corporation and general manager research labs. div., now retired and serving as research consultant to company and as director. Director National Cash Register Company, Ethyl Corporation, Mead Corporation, Moraine Development Company.

      Chairman of the Board Winters National Bank and Trust Company, Flexible Company Founded, 1927, and financed Charles F. Kettering Foundation, 1927, since served as chairman of board, giving active direction to researches in natural sciences, including work on chlorophyll and photosynthesis, artificial fever therapy, and cancer. President Thomas A. Edison Foundation. Director Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research.

      Co-founder Moraine Park School, Dayton. Trustee Ohio State University, Antioch College, College Wooster (O.), U. Miami (Florida), Southern Research Institute. Served as chairman National Inventors Council.

      National Patent Planning Committee, and Engineering and Industrial Research Division, National Research Council and as member Science Advisory Board, National Research Council. Chairman of the executive committee, Centennial of Engineering, 1952.
