  • Case, Walter Summerhayes was born on January 26, 1885 in Savannah, Georgia, United States. Son of James McNaughton and Florence Adele (Weigel) Case.

    • Bachelor of Arts, Williams College, 1906. Special graduate work, New York University School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance, 1907-1909.


    • Financial work and bond salesman, 1907-1910. European agent Ladenburg, Thalmann & Company, later manager bond department with power of attorney, 1910-1916. Founder, 1916, president and director Case, Pomeroy & Company, Inc., a private investment company, patterned after the British plan with a specialized research organization.

      In later years activities were particularly devoted to mineral and petroleum exploration and development in N. and S. America, Africa and Australia.
