      Major National Army, June 1917, advancing to colonel, General Staff, Advertising Educational Foundation and chief regulating officer, Advertising Educational Foundation. Honorary discharged March 1919. Recalled to active service, March 13, 1942, made brigadier general, United States Army, August 10, 1942.

      Released from active duty October 1, 1945. Chairman of the Board Madison Square Garden Corporation.
