    • Tutor, Yale, 1738-1742. Deputy from Suffield in Connecticut Colonial Assembly, 1749-1752, also 2 terms, circa 1772, assistant, 1752-1759. Provincial general Connecticut in Northern colonies during 7 Years War.

      Served as major general, 2d in command of Lake George Expedition, 1755. Served in battles of Crown Point, Ticonderoga, Montreal and in expedition against Havana.
