John Condit, American surgeon, congressman. Served as surgeon in Colonel Van Cortland’s battalion, Heard’s brigade, during Revolutionary War, 1776; member New Jersey Legislature, 1788-1789; member New Jersey Council; member United States House of Representatives from New Jersey, 6th-7th, 16th congresses, 1799-1803, 19-20; member United States Senate from New Jersey, 1803-1817; member New Jersey Medical Society, 1830.
