    Career

    • In newspaper work, since 1881. Accompanied his father, 1883, on lecturing tour in Great Britain as secretary. On his father’s sudden death during mayoralty campaign, 1897, was nominated to succeed his father as candidate of Jeffersonian party for mayor of Greater New York, but was defeated.

      Corresponding for a syndicate of newspapers and several mags. in Japan, 1906. Correspondent for Collier’s Weekly and other periodicals in Japan and around the world, 1909. Campaigned in British Budget general election, 1909.
