    • Principal preparatory department Olivet College, 1879-1898. Lecturer, preacher and political speaker. Minister resident and consul general to Siam, 1898-1903, Envoy Extraordinary anu Minister Plenipotentiary, April 27, since 1903.

      Special representative of President Taft at the cremation of the late King of Siam, March 16, 1911. Same, with the rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary at the coronation of King Vajiravudh of Siam, December 2, 1911. Home: Olivet, Mich.
