Weber was born on October 1, 1878 in Columbus, Ohio, United States; the son of Herman Philip Weber and Medora Isabelle (Maize) Weber.
Weber received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University in 1901. Seven years later he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from George Washington University.
Weber began his career as an assistant chemist at Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station in 1901. A year later he was appointed a scientific assistant to the Bureau of Chemistry of the United States Department of Agriculture. Four years later Frederick became a chemist and the head of the Animal Physiological Chemical Laboratory, where he worked until 1922. Since 1923 he was a research chemist at the Fleischmann Company.
Weber was a member of American Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, Sigma Xi and Delta Tau Delta.
On June 20, 1908 Frederick Weber married Alice Louise Baker.
