Neiderman was first introduced to this franchise through having the same editor and agent as Virginia Andrews. Virginia Andrews was too ill to finish writing the series. Neiderman had to study her style and delve into characters she created.
Neiderman believed that the key to good writing is to have the curiosity about the world giving good attention to every detail. He had to study the characters very closely, it wasn’t very hard for him as they had nearly the same style and their main audience was the same, they both wrote for the young people. Bearing in mind the fact that he was an English teacher and head of the department for 23 years, he understood the very well how young people think and act not forgetting the fact that he directed plays and literature and drama were always his background. Andrew Neiderman had already published 18 novels on his own before he took on V.C Andrews Franchise.
