Victor Sablé was born on 30 November 1911 in Fort-de-france, Martinique.
He was educated at the Lycée of Fort-de-France and at the Law Faculty of Paris, where he received a doctorate.
For many years he conducted a law practice in Martinique, he was counselor of the French Republic from December 1946 to November 1948. He was elected as a Gaullist deputy from Martinique in 1958 and reelected in 1962, 1967, 1968. 1978, and 1981. He aligned with the Union de la Démocratie Française in Parliment. In 1979 he was elected to the European Parliament in the first popular election for that body, on the list of the Union pour la France en Europe, headed by Simone Weil, and was the only non-European to be chosen.
