Hsi-yung Lu received his early education at Yunnan College then went to America and studied at Southwestern College, Winfleld, Kansas in 1913-1914 and entered Columbia University, New York City in 1914. He graduated form there with the degree of Bachelor of Science in 1917 and Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Then he went to England and studied economics and political science at London University in 1921-22 and then went to Germany and studied social science in the University of Berlin in 1923-1924.
Hsi-yung Lu was a president of Yunnan University in 1924 and first Secretary of the Ministry of Edvintion in Peking, China in 1925 and later, director cf the department of special education. He also was a dean of the College of Arts and later acting President of Southeastern University in Nanking, China in 1926 and Dean of the College of Arts of Great China University in Shanghai, China in 1927.
Mr. Lu travelled in the interior of China in 1928, member of the Yunnan Provincial Government and concurrently director of the Department of Education in 1923.
He was an author of "Political Theories of P.J. Proudhon" (English), "Revolution of Thoughts" (Chinese) and "Travel in Fifteen European Countries" (Chinese).
