Yoehgoo Katherine Lew was born in Shanghai, China.
Yoehgoo Katherine Lew graduated from the McTyiere School in Shanghai, China. He also studied in Japan and graduated from the Hiroshina Normal School. Then she returned to China and taught in the Davidson Memorial School in Soochow, China.
After that Mrs. Lew went to the U.S.A. and studied at La Grange College in Georgia, received diploma in Music, LaGrange College and in Kindergarten Education, the Atlanta Kindergarten Normal.
Later she took music education in New York University and received Bachelor of Science in education, Teachers' College, Columbia, and Master of Arts from Columbia University in 1915.
Yoehgoo Katherine Lew returned to China and became dean of Kindergarten Normal School in Soochow. In 1918 she went again to U.S.A. for research in education. She was appointed Principal of the First Provincial Normal School of Kiangsu in 1929, Dean of Women in Normal University of Peking in 1921-1927 and Associate Professor of Education in Yenching University in 1920-1922, lecturer and later Professor in The National Normal University of Peiping 1921-1927, Professor, National Normal University for Women 1924-1928.
Since 1928 Mrs. Lew was a lecturer in Education in the National University of Peking and National Normal University of Peiping, associate secretary of the National Society of Child-education in Peiping, China in 1934-1935, President of the Federation of Women's Clubs in Peiping, China in 1934 and member of the Honor Society of Phi Tao Phi.
