In 1919 he transferred to Cornell University and received Bachelor of Science degree in the same year. Later he attended the University of Maryland and graduated with Master of Science degree in 1920.
When Chen Chunjen Constant returned to China in 1921 he was appointed agricultural adviser to the commissioner of industry of Chihli (Zhili). Sine 1922 he became a cotton specialist in the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce. Mr. Chen was a professor of biology and agriculture in Tsinghua College (later Tsinghua University) and lecturer in agriculture in Yenching University. Chen Chunjen Constant worked as a Peking member and field representative of the World Agricultural Society and collaborator of the botanical abstracts, United States.
He was a contributor to a number of technical publications in America such as Science, the Phytopathology, the Technical Bulletin of the Maryland Agricultural Experimental Station.
