In 1956 Bazyli received a Master of Science degree from Belarus State University.
From 1956 to 1961 Bazyli Czeczuga worked as an Assistant at Medical Academy, Bialystok. He was an Assistant professor and Head of biology department at Medical Academy, Bialystok, 1962-1971, Also from 1972 to 2001 Bazyli Czeczuga held a position of Professor, Head of general biology department at Medical Academy, Bialystok. Bazyli Czeczuga worked as a Professor at Bialystok School of Economics, 2002-2006 and since 2005 - at Higher School of Menegers. Nowadays he is a Professor Emeritus of General Biology Department at Medical University of Bialystok. He is a Contributor of numerous articles to professional journals.
He is a Member of American Association for the Advancement of Science, National Geographic Society, Polish Botanical Society, Polish Hydrobiological Society, Polish Parasitological Society, Polish Natural Society, Scientarum Bialostaocensis Society, American Photobiology Society, Belarus Academy of Sciences, New York Academy of Sciences, International Association Limnology, International Ecology Association, Slavobaltiska Sallskapet Vid Lunds University (Sweden) and Paleolimnological Working Group (Japan).
Bazyli is married to Ada Matusewicz on July 15, 1956.
