She is probably best known for playing the role of Superintendent Amanda Prosser in the long running Independent Television drama The Bill as well as her role in the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye as the MI6 psychological and psychiatric evaluator Caroline. Born in London, she is the daughter of property consultant Ian Strathearn Gordon, and magistrate Nicola Mary Gordon. After college they shared a flat in Bayswater.
They shared their joint 30th birthday party at the Groucho Club.
Together they still run the United Kingdom branch of the Hoffman Institute, which presents a psychological programme founded by Bob Hoffman in 1967. They have two sons. In 2013 Serena Gordon married Adam Douglas, an antiquarian books dealer, in Arundel, West Sussex.
