Career
He last played for Football Club Inter Baku. He capped for Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Youth Team in 1991 Fédération internationale de football association World Youth Championship. Konovalov was the first player to score in a competitive match for the Ukraine national team, as he netted after 29 minutes in their third Union of European Football Associations Euro 1996 qualifying Group 4 match against Estonia, following a 2-0 loss to Lithuania and a 0-0 draw with Slovenia.
The match finished 3-0 thanks to an Urmas Kirs own goal and a goal from Timerlan Huseinov.
Ukraine eventually finished 4th in the group and failed to qualify for the tournament. Was married. He is now in civil marriage.
