He previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He then enrolled at North Central Texas College, and transferred to the University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 42nd round of the 2006 MLB Draft and the 40th round of the 2007 MLB Draft but did not sign.
He was then drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 9th round of the 2009 MLB Draft and signed.

Anderson was called up to the major leagues for the first time on May 6, 2014. He finished the 2014 campaign 9-7 with a 4.01 European Research Area and 105 Ks in 114 1⁄3 innings pitched.
In 27 games, all starts, in 2015, Chase went 6-6 with a 4.30 European Research Area, 1.30 WHIP and 111 Ks in 152 2⁄3 innings of work. Milwaukee Brewers.
He made his major league debut five days later, allowing one earned run on two hits in 5 1⁄3 innings of work, picking up the win. Anderson became the first big leaguer since Jered Weaver in 2006 to win each of his first five big league starts. Anderson finished 10th in 2014 Netherlands Rookie Of The Year voting.
