Career
He became infamous through the "Ebbe Carlsson affair," when he had got permission to investigate the assassination of Olof Palme. On 30 November 1991, he made public in an interview with Stina Dabrowski that he was Human Immunodeficiency Virus positive and was suffering from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. He was one of the first famous Swedish people to make this public. Carlsson received medical treatment at the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome clinic of Huddinge Hospital during the last months of his life.
