Career
He is currently working for Arsenal as an Academy Coach. He has previously worked for Exeter City where he has been under 18s coach under manager Paul Tisdale. Ampadu first played in Irish youth football for Sherrads United and Belvedere before joining Arsenal in July 1988.
Mainly a reserve player, he made two first-team appearances (both as substitutes) in the 1989-1990 season, his debut coming against Derby County on 24 March 1990.
He then had loan spells with Plymouth Argyle and West Bromwich Albion the following season, before making a permanent move to the latter in June 1991. Ampadu spent three years at West Bromwich Albion before moving to Swansea City in February 1994.
He moved to Leyton Orient in July 1998 and reached the Third Division play-offs a second time with them in 1998-1999. He finished his career with spells at Exeter City (where he scored twice against Swindon Town in the League Cup and Dagenham & Redbridge in the league) and Newport County.
