Born to Larry and Kim Todd in San Diego, California and raised in Chandler, Arizona, Jasmine Todd grew up in a sporting family, as both her parents had been track athletes at college.

She holds bests of 6.84 m (22 ft 51⁄4 in) for the long jump and 10.92 seconds for the 100-meter dash. She was third in the 100 m and fourth in the long jump at the United States of America Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2015. She began a psychology major at the University of Oregon but missed most of the 2012 and 2013 collegiate track seasons due to an injury.
Todd quickly established herself among the nation"s top collegiate athletes in 2014.
At the 2014 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships she was sixth in the long jump and third in the 60-meter dash with a best of 7.16 seconds. This time ranked her in the top fifteen athletes globally for the year.
She placed fourth in the long jump at the Pac-12 Conference championships. She improved her long jump best to 6.50 m (21 ft 33⁄4 in) that year, placing her in the global top thirty for the season.
Todd was again third in the 60 m dash at the 2015 National Collegiate Athletic Association Indoor Championships, but managed only eleventh in the long jump.
She was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 100 m at the 2015 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, but placed well in the long jump, taking fourth. The Oregon Ducks team was disqualified in the relay final. She hit new heights at the 2015 United States of America Outdoor Track and Field Championships, established herself as one of the country"s best track and field performers.
She came a surprise third in the 100 m in a new best of 10.92 seconds.
Another best followed in the long jump, where she took fourth through a mark of 6.84 m (22 ft 51⁄4 in). These placings brought her selection for both events at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics.
