Ingmar Axel Karlsson

Career

  • During his entire career he has been writing books about China, Germany, the Middle East as well as about religions and problems of ethnic minorities.

Major achievements

  • In 2002 he was awarded a status of Honorary Doctor of Theological Science at the Lund University
  • 2007 - Honorary Doctor of Philosophy at Linnéuniversitetet (the Univesity named after Carl Linnaeus).

Politics

Has established extremely good ties with Turkish officials and spoke in favour of Turkey's prospects in the European Union.

His book "Kurdistan: landet som icke är" (eng: "Kurdistan: a land that does not exist") proved to be a real controverly with part of the Swedish Kurds speaking in favour and some strongly against the author's ideas.
