    Major achievements

    • Achievements include development of method for measurement of nitric oxide end products (nitrite and nitrate) in biological fluids by capillary electrophoresis. Discovery of nitric oxide levels in plasma can be used as a marker in patients with collagenous and lymphocitic colitis. Discovery of increase of nitric oxide formation in cerebro-spinal fluids in patients with multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus erythematosis.

      Discovery of hydrodynamic sample injection is the injection of choice in measurement of nitrite and nitrate in human urine by capillary electrophoresis. Discovery of increase in nitric oxide formation in urinary bladder cancer patients treated with intra-vesical instillation of Bacillus-Calmette and Guérin vaccine. Discovery of the role of nitric oxide in growth of bladder cancer cell lines.
