He currently plays as a striker or midfielder or defender. Hairuddin Omar made his debut with Terengganu team in 2000. In 2003 Hairuddin and his two teammates, Subri Sulong and Rosdi Talib from Terengganu decided to join Pahang when Terengganu failed to pay their wages.
After 6 years spending his career with Pahang FA, Hairuddin return to Terengganu but not with Terengganu FA. He sign with a club team located in Kuala Terengganu, PBDKT T-Team Football Club. During the Malaysia Cup 2009, he join Negeri Sembilan for a loan as PBDKT T-Team Football Club unable to participate in Malaysia Cup Tournament.
Foreign the season of 2010, he signed with Kelantan. He was part of the Kelantan"s 2010 Malaysia Cup winning team
He scored Kelantan"s first goal on the second half of the 2010 Malaysia Cup final and was awarded Manitoba of the Match. He played for Negeri Sembilan for the 2011 Malaysian Super League season.
His first full season with Negeri was a mixed one, as he only scored 4 goals in the league.
