Ke-sheng Lin educated at Lyon's School, Harrow and George Watson's College, Edinburgh. He received the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1919, Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1920, Doctor of Science degree in 1924.
Ke-sheng Lin was Goodsir Memorial Fellow (University of Edinburgh) in 1920 and Research Fellow at the University of Chicago in 1924. He worked also as a F. R. S. E. lecturer in physiology at the University of Edinburgh in 1919-1923, professor and head of the department of physiology at Peking Union Medical College since 1924, editor of the Chinese Journal of Physiology in Peking since 1926.
