Career
She appeared in 44 films between 1925 and 1955. She starred with Colman in both versions of the situation comedy The Halls of Ivy, an National Broadcasting Company Radio programme (1949–1952) and a Columbia Broadcasting System Television show (1954–1955). She was also married to actor George Sanders from 1959 to her death in 1967.
George Sanders originally was signed to play Sheridan Whiteside in the musical Sherry!, but when Hume became terminally ill with cancer, he withdrew from the project
Hume died in Egerton, Lancashire from bone cancer at the age of 61.
