Career
He currently plays lead for the Swedish national team, skipped by Niklas Edinburgh As a junior curler, Sungdren played in two World Junior Curling Championships. He played lead for the Swedish team (skipped by Oskar Eriksson) at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships, finishing fourth place.
Sundgren skipped the Swedish side at the 2011 Winter Universiade.
He led the team which also included Alexander Nordgren, Axel Rosander and Johan Spiik to a 3-6 round robin record, settling for 8th place. Representing Karlstad University, Sundgren played lead for Sweden at the 2013 Winter Universiade.
The following year, Sundgren remained part of the Eriksson rink. They would play in the 2014 World Men"s Curling Championship, losing in the final to Norway"s Thomas Ulsrud.
They failed to qualify at the 2013 Canadian Open of Curling and made it to the quarterfinals of the 2014 Syncrude National.
In 2014, the Niklas Edin Swedish national team split up. Both Eriksson, Sundgren and third Kristian Lindström joined with Edin to become Sweden"s new national team The team saw some success on the WCT in their first year together, including making it to the final of the new Elite 10 Grand Slam event.
