Career
As a junior player, Collins participated in a handful of International Tennis Federation events, winning the singles crown at the Plantation International Tennis Federation event in Plantation, Florida in May 2011, defeating Allie Kiick in the final with the loss of just two games. On the senior International Tennis Federation Women"s Circuit, her sole title to date came at the $10,000 tournament in Williamsburg, Virginia on October 9, 2011, where she beat Russia"s Nika Kukharchuk in the final. Collins had been absent from the professional tour since February 2012, playing primarily in national and state-level tournaments, but she received a wildcard to participate in the qualifying draw of the 2014 Connecticut Open.
However, she was beaten in round one by Taiwanese former top-50 player Hsieh Su-wei.
In August 2014, Collins earned one of the eight wildcards into the 2014 United States Open by virtue of winning the National Collegiate Athletic Association singles championship, the first woman for the University of Virginia to do southern She also received the Industry Training Authority All-America recognition, and her 37 singles wins in the 2013–2014 season rank second on UVA"s all-time list.
