Working in Egypt for the Société française des fouilles archéologiques with Raymond Weill in 1910-1911, he discovered the Coptos Decrees in the temple of Minister at Coptos. Adolphe Reinach, a lieutenant of Cuirassiers in the French Army, was killed in Fossé in the Ardennes in the first few months of the First World War.
