Mrs. Pollack was born on July 26, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. She is a daughter of Richard (in sales) and Beverly (a realtor; maiden name, Perry) Pollack.
Jill Pollack was a graduate of George Washington University, from which she received her Bachelor of Arts in 1985. She also did graduate studies at DePaul University.
From 1985 to 1986 Mrs. Pollack worked as a traffic manager at Power House of Communications, Washington. Between 1986 and 1988 he was an assistant director of marketing and development at Northlight Theatre, Evanston, Illinois. Since 1988 he became a senior account executive at CM Communications, Chicago.
Starting from 1993 Jill Pollack has become a full-time writer and concurrently an activist in lesbian and gay politics.
