Narendra Prasad was a popular Indian movie actor, playwright, director, teacher, and literary critic.
Background
He was born on the 26th December, 1946 in Mavelikkara, British India, His father was V. Raghava Kurup. His morher was P. Janaki Amma. Survived by wife Nanda and two children: Deepa and Divya. He died on the third November at the PVS Hospital. He had been admitted to Amrita Hospital, Emakulam for breathlessness, caused by interstitial lung disease.
Education
He used to take part in the Malayalam and English literary discussions, debates and competitions organized at the college and university levels, and won prizes.
Career
Narendra Prasad started his career as a college teacher. He joined Bishop Moore College in 1967 as lecturer in English. In 1968 he worked as lecturer at Govt. Victoria College and Govt. Arts College. He worked as professor at University College. In 1989 while working as Professor of English at University College, he was selected for the prestigious post of Director, School of Letters of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He acted in over 150 films. Narendra Prasad created a drama troupe in the early 1980s.
