Yoshimi Kondo graduated from Tokyo University with a diploma in engineering.
Yoshimi Kondo became interested in poetry and became a member of Araragi (society of poets) and a pupil of Bunmei Tsuchiya (1932). Soon after World War II he organized a new society of poets with the view of propagating political and social matters through the medium of verse. Later founded a magazine for poets titled "Mirai" (The Future) (1951). His anthologies include "Ode to Early Spring," "Composed Will" and "The Milky Way in Winter".
