Yuri Vitalievich Mamleev was born at December 11, 1931 in Moscow, Russian Federation.
From 1957 to 1974 he taught mathematics in evening schools. But the main area of his activity was literature. His stories, novels, philosophical essays were distributed in samizdat, as they were impossible to publish in Soviet publishing houses. At his apartment in Yuzhinsky Lane, many "unofficial culture" figures of the time gathered in the 1960s. Among them are poets and artists such as Yevgeny Golovin, Leonid Gubanov, Henry Sapgir, Lev Kropyvnytsky, Alexander Kharitonov, later Venedikt Erofeev, Heydar Jemal and many other representatives of the intellectuals that are now known, who have shown themselves in art, philosophy, and literature.
Since the early 1990s, his books have become widely published in Russia. During this time (from the beginning of 1990 to 2008) published 27 of his books, including books on philosophy, there were many articles, interviews in the press, speeches on the radio and television. At the same time, the publication of his books in the West continued. As in Western languages and Russian, many articles, studies on his work appeared, diplomas and dissertations were protected. Yury Mamleev's plays were staged in Russia and at the festival in Austria, in Graz (in German).
A member of the American, French and Russian Pen-clubs, the Union of Writers, the Union of Writers and the Union of Playwrights of Russia.
