Came to America, 1893. He was able to attend and graduate from Columbia University (1895) and New York University Medical School 1898). In 1900 Rubinow began part-time graduate study at Columbia University in economics, statistics, and sociology. In 1903 he left medicine for full-time employment in Washington.
Isaac Max Rubinow became a leading theorist on social insurance and one of the most influential writers on the subject.
Rubinow also authored a series of articles that appeared in the Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Home Economics, and Journal of Sociology
