Background
Justin Randall Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Lynn (Bomar) Harless and Charles Randall Timberlake, a Baptist church choir director. Justin Timberlake grew up in Shelby Forest, a small community between Memphis and Millington. He has two half-brothers, Jonathan (born September 12, 1993) and Stephen (born August 14, 1998), from Charles' second marriage to Lisa Perry. His half-sister Laura Katherine died shortly after birth on May 12, 1997.
Education
Timberlake attended E.E. Jeter Elementary School in Millington, Tennessee. After the sixth grade, he left and was subsequently homeschooled throughout middle school and high school.
He also took courses for young artists. Because he had a great success, and during studied at school he started his early career.
He first achieved fame as a contestant on Star Search, and went on to star in the Disney Channel television series The New Mickey Mouse Club, where he met future bandmate JC Chasez. Timberlake became famous in the late 1990s as the lead singer and youngest member of the boy band 'N Sync, whose launch was financed by Lou Pearlman. In May 1997 the band released their debut album, which sold over 11 million copies. The third studio album, 'N Sync No Strings Attached, was released in the year 2000, sold over 15 million copies. In the same year the band Timberlake won three awards at the ceremony of MTV Video Music Awards.
In 2002, the year Timberlake began his solo-career , recording the album Justified (two awards "Grammy"). The following year, he became the main winner at the MTV Europe Awards.
At the end of the 2003 year, Timberlake recorded a song entitled "I'm Lovin' It". It was used by McDonald's as the theme to its "I'm Lovin' It" campaign. The deal with McDonald's earned Timberlake an estimated $6 million. A tour entitled Justified and Lovin' It Live was included with the deal as well.Timberlake was featured on Nelly's song, "Work It", which was remixed and included on Nelly's 2003 remix album.
In February 2004, during the halftime show of the Super Bowl XXXVIII broadcast on the CBS television network, Timberlake performed with Janet Jackson before a television audience of more than 140 million viewers. At the end of the performance, as the song drew to a close, Timberlake tore off a part of Jackson's black leather costume in a "costume reveal" meant to accompany a portion of the song lyrics.
After the incident, Timberlake paused in his career, during which he found time to work with rappers Snoop Dogg and Nelly. Their second album - FutureSex / LoveSounds (two awards "Grammy") - he recorded together with trendy hip-hop producer and songwriter Timbaland. The drive appears on the shelves of music stores in 2006 and has become one of the most popular releases of the year.
From 2007 through 2012, Timberlake focused on his acting career with starring roles in the films The Social Network, the Time, Bad Teacher and Friends with Benefits.
His third album The 20/20 Experience (2013) is preceded by lead single "Suit & Tie", which has peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Timberlake has co-owned or provided celebrity endorsement for three restaurants in the United States: "Chi" opened in West Hollywood, California in 2003, and "Destino" and "Southern Hospitalty" in New York opened in 2006 and 2007, respectively. He also has his own brand of tequila called 901; the name comes in part from the area code of his hometown of Memphis. In 2005, Timberlake launched the William Rast clothing line with childhood friend Juan ("Trace") Ayala. The 2007 line contained cord jackets, cashmere sweaters, jeans and polo shirts.
Timberlake considers himself more "spiritual than religious". Memphis was influential in Timberlake’s life, both musically and religiously. He says: "I sang in church growing up. Memphis is the blues capital of the world, we like to say."
In fact, Justin was raised as a devout Southern Baptist. His grandfather was a preacher at a Baptist church and his father was a choir director at his local Baptist church. But stardom tends to take its toll on the religious devotion of its victims and even as early as the N’Sync days, Timberlake seems to have given up on the faith of his childhood. When asked if he was religious on the Larry King show, Timberlake said: "I think the term for me would be more spiritual than religious."
But that doesn’t mean that when Timberlake goes home, he doesn’t slip into his old religion like a glove. He said, speaking in the third person for some reason: "When Justin comes home he would not even sit down and have a sandwich that he doesn’t say a blessing for."
Politics
Timberlake has managed to keep out of politics–for the most part. But, like many, he was sucked into the Obama phenomenon. In 2008, he and then-girlfriend Jessica Biel publicly endorsed Obama–a first for both of them. Timberlake said: "We’ve never publicly endorsed before. But we’ve never been so inspired by one person."
In 2012, when Obama made history by announcing his support for gay marriage, Timberlake was among the many celebrities to laud the president, tweeting: "Barack Obama inspires me once again. True leadership is when you are willing to risk your power and voice so that ALL of ours can be heard." This proves Timberlake to be, not only a Democrat and a liberal–at least in terms of gay rights and marriage and whatnot, but would indicate that he’s completely deluded by the American political system. They got him! But wait, he did once say something of actual substance.
Timberlake, when asked if he would ever consider running for office, said he would “suck” at being president–maybe, maybe not. But he did say that he supports any politician willing to stand up against injustice–Ok, vague but still cool. Timberlake went on to comment on the current state of American society, saying: "America used to be the country of boundless possibilities, but today you don’t get as many of them – unless you have money. And that’s not fair. I just wish there would be a simple solution, then we could transform it into a philosophy." This quote seems intimate like the real Timberlake is concerned, but humble. He sees a problem and as someone with a bit of wisdom, doesn’t think he has the answers.
