Daniel Torres Rodríguez worked as a Teaching Assistant State at the University of New York, Stony Brook, in 1984-1986; at the University Cincinnati in 1986-1988. He was an Instructor at Ohio State University, Columbus, in 1988-1990. Since 1990, he has been a Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Ohio University. Hid research Interests include Colonial and Contemporary Latin American Studies and Literary Theory. He has published many articles in specialized journals on Latin American Literature and Culture.
In his scholarly work, Daniel Torres Rodríguez writes about Latin American poetry (colonial and contemporary periods). In his creative writing, he has developed a vision of male homoeroticism from AIDS to love triangles. He is interested in decoding gender and understanding of desire and pleasure.
