Breisky was a captain in the United States Army from 1950 to 1954. He began his career as a reporter of Albany Times-Union in 1950. Two years later he took a position of an associate editor of the Saturady Evening Post. Then in 1961, William was appointed an editor and publisher of Enfield Press. Also he served as a manager of Bermuda News Bureau from 1968 to 1977. In 1977, Breisky became an editor of Foster's Daily Democratic. Since 1979 he has been an editor of Cape Cod Times.
Breisky is a member of American Society of Newspaper Editors.
On November 18, 1935 William Breisky married Barbara Bott Bohl. They have three children.
