Anil Dhirubhai Ambani is an Indian business tycoon and the son of legendary businessman and visionary Dhirubhai Ambani. After the division of the Reliance group in 2006, he became the chairman of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, which is composed of high growth companies. He is a member of the Board of Overseers at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Chairman of Board of Governors of DA-IICT, Gandhinagar.

Anil was born in the richest family in India and one of the richest in the world. His father, Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Industries was an Indian business tycoon who founded Reliance Industries in Mumbai with his cousin. Anil Ambani did his Bachelors in Science from the University of Bombay and Masters in Business Administration The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Anil Ambani joined Reliance in 1983 as Co-Chief Executive Officer. After the split in Reliance Group, Anil Ambani founded Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
Career
Ambani joined his father’s company ‘Reliance Industries’ as the Co-Chief Executive Officer. He has been accredited with leading several financial advances in the Indian capital markets. He took the company to new heights of success. He led the country’s first expeditions in the overseas capital markets with international public contributions of global depositary receipts, bonds and convertibles. Another achievement of young Ambani was to raise approximately $2 billion from the overseas financial markets along with a 100 year ‘Yankee Bond’ that was issued in January 1997. After the split in Reliance Group, Anil Ambani founded Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. He is the Chairman of all listed Group companies, which include: Reliance Communications, Reliance Capital, Reliance Energy and Reliance Natural Resources Limited.
