In 1927 she finished an eight-year school and entered Gomel Pedagogical College.
After her graduation (1931) worked as an elementary classroom
teacher at seven-years school in Urytskaje village, a teacher of
Russian language and literature at the school of sovkhoz "Brylev" in
Gomel region. In 1934 - 1938 studied at the literary department at Minsk
Pedagogical University. In 1941, completed her postgraduate studies at the same
university. During the Great Patriotic War was evacuated to Gorky region: there
from September to October 1941 she worked as
a senior lecturer at Semenov Pedagogical Institute, from January to
August 1942 taught the theory of pedagogy at Vetluga Teachers College. From
1942 to 1944 was the head of the scientific reference room of Gorky regional
archive. After the liberation of Belarus she returned home and worked as a
senior lecturer, an associate professor and the head of the department of
Russian literature at Gomel Pedagogical Institute named after Chkalov
(1945-60). In 1948 she defended her thesis "On the literary character of
ancient comedy (types of slaves in the comedies of Plautus)." In September
1960 became a senior collaborator at Institute of Literature named after Kupala
Academy of Science BSSR. From 1964 to 1969 worked as assistant professor of the
foreign literature department at BSU. Retired since September 1969.
The first article by L. Tsimashkova, "Traditions of animals", was published in
1943 in the regional newspaper "Gorkovskaya kommuna" (publication not
identified). In the Belarusian press ("Gorkovskaya pravda") appeared
in 1949. As an expert of literature made researches for Belarusian-Bulgarian
and Belarusian-Polish literary relationship. Author of the booklet
"Belarusian-Bulgarian literary connections". Wrote a chapter for the
textbook "Foreign Literature", collective "Pre-revolutionary
history of the Belarusian literature". Several articles are devoted to
creativity of A. Dante, G. Byron, J. Becher, A. Mickiewicz, A. Pushkin, R.
Rahlan, etc. She appeared in periodicals with articles and reviews.
Participated in conferences on the relationship of literature with reports. Her
articles were published in the Bulgarian magazine "Language and
Literature."
