Ollanta Humala is a Peruvian politician and the President of Peru.

Ollanta's mother is from an old Italian family established in Peru at the end of the 19th century.
He was the second of seven children, the son of Elena and Isaac Humala Tasso Nunez. According Humala father, Ollanta means "warrior everything looks." His father gave lectures on Marxism instead of narrating stories about the slave uprisings against the Romans.
Career
In 1991 with the rank of captain, serving in Tingo María (Huánuco) fighting Shining Path and was accused of killing Peruvians in the red zone.
In 1995, serving on a military base of support near the border with Ecuador.
During the government of Alejandro Toledo was military attaché in France and later in South Korea.
In October 2005 became leader of the Peruvian Nationalist Party and announced his candidacy for the presidency of Peru in the 2006 general election. Unable to register the game against the National Elections had to join the Union for Peru party. On April 5, 2006, ended his campaign with a rally in Lima on the Walk of naval heroes. The results confirmed a runoff election for June 4 between Humala and APRA candidate Alan Garcia.
Again running for the presidency of Peru in the general elections of April 10, 2011, accompanied by vice presidential candidates and Omar Chehade Marisol Espinoza. Form electoral alliance wins Peru, Peruvian Nationalist Party coalition with leftist parties.

Ollanta Humala has expressed sympathy for the former government of Juan Velasco, which took power in a bloodless military coup on October 3, 1968 and nationalized various of the country's industries whilst pursuing a favorable foreign policy with Cuba and the Soviet Union.
