When Jenny was 14 she joined her brother's band, which would become Ace of Base, one of Sweden's biggest music exports ever. The band broke the sale records with their debut album, "Happy Nation" (1993), worldwide, which sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, thus making it one of the most successful debut records ever.
Originally Berggren's role in the band was equal with her sister, Linn, although the first singles chosen by the record company had Linn singing most of the lead vocals. In the beginning, she and Linn only had a minor role in the production or writing of any of the band's first songs. Later Berggren was forced into a more prominent role and she began to compose songs for the band's albums. Her compositions have been included in each successive album.
Jenny and her fellow band members gave hundreds of performances through their concerts and promotions from 1992-2009, their largest audience being 55,000 in Tel Aviv. It was because of their record-breaking debut success that Jenny and her fellow band members have become a well-known musical icon of the nineties, though their albums went on into the early 2000s.
After the promotion of their last album, Da Capo, in 2002, they finally took a well-deserved break. During this period, Jenny married long-time boyfriend and classical pianist Jakob Petren in 2004 and they had their first child in 2005.
Jenny, Jonas, and Ulf performed a series of concerts in 2007-2009 in Europe and Asia. During the touring they recorded new songs designated to a fifth studio album. The trio didn't get a record contract with the songs that were produced and Jenny continued working on her own solo material. During this time, Ulf and Jonas recruited two other female vocalists.
In May 2010, Jenny released her first solo single "Here I Am". The single reached number 14 in the Swedish singles charts.
Jenny is currently promoting her autobiography and giving concerts and lectures in churches and other venues around Sweden. At the same time, she is busy working on her solo music career and translation of her autobiography into English.
