Enrique K. Razon Jr. is a Filipino billionaire and the Chairman and CEO of the Manila-listed company, International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), the Philippine port-handling giant. Currently the third richest Filipino, a four place jump from last year's ranking, mainly because of his stake in Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels.
In 1987, the Razon Group and the Soriano Group incorporated ICTSI, initially to bid for the Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) in the Philippines.
After winning the MICT contract 1988, Mr. Razon spearheaded the MICT’s development program.
After consolidating and strengthening its base and flagship operation at the MICT, ICTSI launched an international and domestic expansion program in 1994. The company continues to pursue prospects in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas and Europe.
Mr. Razon sits on the board of most ICTSI subsidiaries worldwide and of several leading foreign and Philippine corporations. His other investments are in real estate, power, and leisure facilities including a golf course in the Philippines. Mr. Razon also chairs the ICTSI Foundation, Inc., which implements the ICTSI Group’s corporate social responsibility advocacies worldwide.
Mr. Razon is a member of the American Management Association, Management Association of the Philippines, and the World Economic Forum.
It was Eric K. Razon who turned ICTSI into a global operation, providing container port terminal services in the Philippines, Poland, and Brazil.
Sport & Clubs:
Razon has a basketball team in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) with most of its players form the De La Salle University Green Archers.
He is also an avid golfer and supported the local pro circuit through the Philippine Golf Tour. He helps the amateur golf through the ICTSI-The Country Club Program and also supported the Canlubang Golf Team.
