In 2004 Bob Mason co-founded Brightcove, a leading global provider of cloud content services that are used to publish and distribute professional digital media. As the CTO, Bob provides leadership for Brightcove’s vision, technology and product design. More than 3,500 customers in over 50 countries rely on Brightcove to build and operate media experiences across PCs, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs.
Previously, Bob was a founding member of the product team at ATG, an industry leading online commerce platform. Bob joined ATG as the 10th employee in 1994 as his first job out of college, and for a decade provided leadership in shaping the company’s growth and strategic positioning while also being a technical leader for software architecture and development through 6 major product release cycles. ATG went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 1999 and was acquired by Oracle in 2011.
Bob is passionate about the power of both for-profit and social impact entrepreneurs to better society and improve our local communities. To that end he mentors other startups through TechStars Boston and provides “micro-genius grants” as a Trustee of The Awesome Foundation.
