Graduate Saint St. Petersburg Roman Catholic Seminary and Theological Academy.
1903-1905 assistant vicar, from 1905 vicar, Street Catherine Parish, Saint St. Petersburg. Later dean of Saint St. Petersburg parishes. From 1917, by preaching in Russian at Street Catherine’s Church, converted many Russians to Catholicism.
Resisted Bolshevik decrees on confiscation of Church treasures and ban on religious instruction of children. March 1923 ordered to Moscow along with Archbishop Tseplyak and other Roman Catholic priests, arrested and imprisoned. Charged with counter-revol activities and hostility to Soviet regime at show trial and sentenced to death by firing squad.
