From 1921 professor, Leningrad University. 1922-1932 head, Gcobotanical Department, Main Botanical Garden, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Did research on the flora of the Caucasus and its history and on the botanical zoning and mapping of the Caucasus and the European Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
